What is a genetic counselor?
Genetic counselors are healthcare professionals who have advanced training in medical genetics and counseling. Genetic counselors guide and support patients who want to know how inherited health conditions might affect them or their families. Genetic counselors work in hospitals, public health organizations, laboratories, and other industries to help people get better access to genetic testing and genetic counseling services.
